The seven-day 12th edition of KIIT Premier League (KPL) All India (Day and Night) T-20 cricket tournament organised by the KIIT University kicked off at the KIIT Stadium here on Tuesday.
KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta inaugurated the tourney in presence of BCCI selectors Banta Singh, MS Kumar, Jaikumar Sinha, Abinash Kumar and Lalit Patel.
On the inaugural day, the first match was played between the organiser KIIT University and the MG Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi (UP). The teams have been divided into four pools in which teams from 12 universities from the country have participated.
The winner would get a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, while the runners up would get Rs 1 lakh with a trophy. Besides, there are plenty of individual cash prizes to be awarded on the final day.
