Kendrapara SP Satish Kumar Gajavhiye on Thursday sought help of the Noida SP to conduct a probe into the mystery shrouding the death of a woman of the district at Noida on November 29. According to police sources, one Pravasini alias Mama, the daughter of Raghunath Kar, a resident of Darabachha village under Marshaghai police limits, had married one Satyaranjan Dash, son of Kalakar Dash of Sansarphala village under Pattamundai police station in 2010. It was a love- marriage.
later, both the couple stayed at Nithari area under Noida district as Satyaranjan was working in a Noida-based private company. On November 29, Satyaranjan telephoned to Raghunath that Mama had committed suicide. Raghunath rushed to Nithari. There he came to know that his son-in-law had not informed the police about the suicide. As a result, he smelt something fishy.
Raghunath, suspecting that his daughter was murdered by Satyaranjan, sought help from the Kendrapara SP by filing a petition in this regard. Soon, the Pattamundai IIC was directed to conduct a preliminary inquiry and submit a detailed report. The IIC submitted his report before the Kendrapara SP on December 31 stating that since the incident had occurred in Noida, inquiry should be made there.
