A Class-IV Dalit girl student was allegedly sexually abused by her school teacher on Monday during the class hour. According to police sources, the victim of Dighi Primary School of seaside Iswarpur
Gram Panchayat under Rajnagar police station on Monday was sexually abused by one Sudhir Kumar Jena, Assistant Teacher of the school, while the class was going on.
Jena asked her to come to the first floor of the school after luring her on the pretext of providing her a notepad and a pen. When she obliged, the latter sexually abused her. The teacher later threatened her not to disclose the matter to anybody, else she would face the wrath of him.
The matter came to the fore following the girl skipped from going to school. When her parents asked the reason behind her not going school, the victim girl told her ordeal to her mother. later, the mother of the girl lodged an FIR at Rajnagar police station and also informed the alleged matter before the notice of the Headmistress of the school, locals and SHG group members.
Irate over the issue, the locals and the SHG group members on Tuesday rushed to the school and allegedly assaulted Jena for his act and also confined him in a class room by locking the door from outside.
Pattamundai SDPO Kedarnath Sahu and a Rajnagar police team led by its IIC Sitakantha Kanungo rushed to the spot and rescued Jena. A case was registered and Jena was arrested. On Tuesday evening, the victim girl and the accused were sent for medical examination, informed DSP SN Das.
