The Panchayati Raj Department Director has suspended Kendrapada district’s Charigaon Sarpanch Anasuya Biswal for dereliction in duty and misappropriation of Government funds.
The sarpanch in connivance with Panchyat Executive Officer K Prasad Acharya misappropriated Rs 4,00,000 from the panchayat’s CFC account in two phases. Besides, both of them didn’t even response to a show cause notice issued on them by the BDO after the irregularities came to the notice. The district Collector had sacked the Executive Officer on January 25for his involvement in siphoning of the Government fund.
The sarpanch also had withdrawn money for execution of a bore well which is not under the action plan nor had she obtained prior approval of the concerned BDO for execution of the project work.
District Collector Debaraj Senapati had on January 25 wrote a letter to the Government and the Panchayati Raj Department Director to take disciplinary action against the sarpanch.
