Rajnagar BDO Jhadeshwar Das issued so cause notice to the present and former executive officers (EOs) of Iswarpur panchayat for duping old age pension of a dead person.
The BDO also directed the duo officers Sarat Chandra Ray (former EO) and Ramanath Dhal (present EO) to submit their replies soon.
Notably, it was alleged before the BDO recently that a ghost beneficiary was drawing monthly widow pension in last 11 months by giving thumb impression in the pension distribution register in the panchayat office. Though the beneficiary Kharia Pradhan of Ghadiamaladied in September, 2014, but the monthly widow pension continued to bewithdrawn in Kharia’s name every month till September 2015.
Acting on the allegation, BDO Das directed a probe into the alleged matter. As per the preliminary inquiry, it was established that a scamtook place. As a result, the BDO held the present and former executiveofficers responsible in the duping case.After their replies, disciplinary action would be initiated againstthem, informed the BDO.
