Protesting against police inaction in arresting the prime accused of Ranjey Jena’s murder case, about 100 locals, including women, of Chatara Chakroda gram panchayat staged a dharna in front of Derabish police station.
According to the agitators, one Julia alias Sanjay Jena, a fellow villager and his father-in-law Gurucharan Jena allegedly killed by slicing the neck Ranjey (40), son-in-law of Dharanidhar Jena, who was sleeping at the veranda of his father-in law’s house at Chatara Chakroda on May 16 night .
The locals alleged that Dharanidhar allegedly invited son-in-law Ranjey to come to his house in order to accompany his daughter, who was raped by Julia three years back, to court following the court directed the victim girl for appearance on May17.
But culprit Julia allegedly threatened Ranjey to withdraw the case. But when Ranjey denied, he attacked by Julia and his father-in-law and killed.
The locals alleged that though 15 days have passed to the incident, but police have failed to nab prime accused Julia, who is an anti social. Kendrapara SDPO Nrushingha Charan Swain rushed to the spot and assured the agitators to nab the prime accused within 20 days.
