The Kendrapada Bar Association on Saturday decided to wear black badges on Monday and Tuesday and threatened to observe a Kendrapada Bandh shortly if the administration fails to arrest former Marsaghai BDO Susant Kumar Pati for keeping a EVM-laden Bolero near his house on April 18, a day after the elections.
A decision to this effect was taken at the general body meeting of the association. District Bar Association president Dhruba Charan Jena said, “The lawyers in the district would wear black badges for two days i.e on Monday and Tuesday protesting the illegal arrest of innocent people in connection with the attack on the Marsaghai BDO.”The lawyers too demanded release of persons arrested for attacking the BDO. Jena said the association will hold discussions with the candidates of the opposition parties contesting in five Assembly segments and one lok Sabha seat for their support for the bandh.
