FIR lodged against Former committee member
Sarat Chandra Sahu, a member of the DS law College managing committee, recently lodged an FIR at the Kendrapada Town police station alleging that a former member of the committee, Druba Charan Jena, sold away some college land slyly by forming a fake college managing trust board.
Sahu alleged that Jena formed the Baladevjew Education Trust Board in the year 2000 and later sold away 1.4 acres land of the D.S law College at Odisa mauza in the Mirapatana locality.
According to official sources, Sahu, son of late Dinabandhu Sahu, had donated 1.4 acres of land to the college on August 31, 1987. But Jena sold away his donated land to a minority community woman of the township area in 2002.
But the matter came to fore after the woman started selling land patches to some persons.
Police have registered a case in this regard and started investigation into the matter currently.
It may be noted that Sahu had earlier filed a petition in the Civil Court here against eight persons, including Jena, appealing to dismiss the land sale deeds.
Jena is now the Kendrapada District Bar Association. The incident has raised eyebrows in the department at the allegation.
