Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested Kendrapada district’s Endar GP Gram Rojagar Sevek (GRS) lalita Basanta Ghadei on the charge demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from Abhya Kumar
Mallick of Shyamsundarpur to give back security money against a completed CC road project.
Mallick had informed the Vigilance that he had been paid Rs 2 lakh on completion of the CC Road. However, he was yet to take security money of Rs 10,000 he had deposited before the work. When he approached the GRS for processing the file for the security money, the later demanded Rs 2,000 for the purpose.
Accordingly, the Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Ghadei red-handed while taking Rs 2,000 from Mallick in the office room of Endar GP. The investigation is in progress, said an official release.
