A very sad case came to the fore on Tuesday when a 15-year-old girl met Kendrapada SP Satish Kumar Gajavhiye and told him that she was raped by her brother-in-law time and again with the support of her parents.
The girl, a Class X student belonging to Arakhia village under the Kendrapada Sadar police station, also alleged before the SP that her parents and brother-in-law forced to take to prostitution. She said her parents used to torture her physically whenever she protested the brother-in-law’s clandestine act.
The girl also informed Gajavhiye that her elder sister, having faced with same plight, has left home for the last two days.
She might have been engaged in a brothel by the brother-in-law, she told the SP and urged him to take strong action against her parents and brother-in-law.
When contacted, Gajavhiye said the SDPO has started inquiry into the alleged matter and action would be taken on receipt of the report.
