A 19-year-old girl in Dhumat area lodged an FIR at Nikirai PS on Monday alleging that one Ashis Kumar Behera, a resident of Indupur, lured her under the pretext of providing a job and raped her in Delhi for three years. She complained presently the accused was meting out physical and mental torture to her after duping her of gold ornaments. The victim, a Plus II student in a local college, had gone to Delhi with Ashis on June 7, 2013 to get a company job. “When I landed at Delhi, Ashis asked me to wait for some days to arrange a job and kept me at his house in Sahapurjath area. later, he and his parents allegedly confined me in a room and had given mental and physical torture. Ashis raped me forcibly several times during illegal confinement and also they engaged me as their servant in their house,” the victim said. On June 16, 2016, she managed to flee from Delhi and reached at her relative’s house in Kendrapada on June 17. The relatives later brought the alleged matter to her widow mother. She narrated her sorry plight to her mother and on Monday, she lodged an FIR against Ashis and his father and mother. When contacted, Nikirai PS IIC Pramod Kumar lenka stated a case had been registered in this regard and police were conducting an inquiry.
