At an election preparatory meeting that was organised on Wednesday under the chairmanship of district Collector Ratnakar Rout, the Collector directed all senior officials of various departments to take adequate arrangements like constructing ramp structure, erecting latrine and provision of drinking water in each booth of the five Assembly segments under Kendrapada district within a week.
Rout directed the tehsildars and BDOs to submit a report by visiting to the booths for ensuring that all the necessary arrangements have been made within a week. Even, the district Collector has also directed the tehsildars and BDOs to initiate steps to arrange at least one of these things, deployment of Central Paramilitary Forces (CPF), webcasting, micro observer, videography and installation of still camera in each booth.
While the sub collector Pratap Mishra has been entrusted for the Kendrapada and Patkura seats, the Additional Sub-Collector has been given charge for Mahakalapada segment, the PD of DRDA for Rajnagar and the ADM was entrusted to look after Ali Assembly seat. The Collector also constituted and sent flying squads to five Assembly constituencies on Thursday evening. The squads would track illegal cash transactions, distribution of liquor to lure voters and transporting of voters to booths by candidates.
