In post poll violence , BJP district secretary Mamatamayee Samal sustained critical injuries following some Congress activists barged into her house at Baipur under Kasar panchayat and allegedly attacked her while she was taking rest.
According to BJP district president Sukant Dwivedy, Samal was later rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment in an unconscious and critical stage.
After regaining consciousness, she informed that while she was in her house, some Congress supporters of Kansar gram panchayat sarpanch, who won the poll on Tuesday, allegedly barged into her house and attacked her severely in order to take revenge from her as she was entrusted by the saffron party to look into the poll of Bandhapada panchayat.
“As I am undergoing treatment at hospital, so I have failed to lodged an FIR. I would lodge an FIR within 24 hours against the assailants,” said Samal. Meanwhile, the incident has been condemned by the BJP.
