The Koshal State Coordination Committee has called a 12-hour Koshal Mahabandh in 11districts of western Odisha on December 17, to press for creation of a separate Koshal State.
This was announced by Pramod Mishra at a Press meet held here on Saturday morning.
Mishra alleged that some leaders are opposing the Koshal Bandh at the instigation of Coastal area leaders to hide their non performance. They are doing more harm to their own area, said Mishra.
While schools, colleges, business establishments, post offices and banks would be closed, train services have been excluded from the purview of the bandh, he said.
