The Koraput Bar Association observed a 12-hour bandh in Koraput town on Wednesday demanding suspension and disciplinary action against police Sub Inspector Siba Shankar Sahu, who allegedly misbehaved advocate Bibeka Ranjan Sethi on July 14 last.
During the bandh, shops of Koraput town remained closed and vehicular movement was interrupted. The lawyers’ body is also boycotting court work since last July15.
Other bar associations of the district, including District Bar Association, Jeypore, also have boycotted court work and supported the bandh.
The agitating lawyers said that the court boycott would continue till the demand was fulfilled. Further, the association has decided to meet the DGP to take action against the police SI.
