There is good news for air travellers in Odisha. The Indigo Airlines will start two new flights between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar and between Kolkata and Mumbai via Bhubaneswar from April 15.
As per the schedule, the flight would leave Kolkata at 3 pm and arrive at the Bhubaneswar airport here at 4 pm. It would leave Bhubaneswar at 4.30 pm and arrive at Kolkata at 5.30 pm. Another flight would leave Kolkata at 7.30 pm and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 8.30 pm. The flight would leave Bhubaneswar for Mumbai at 9 pm.
“We are trying to cater to the requirements of the passengers. We need a 20-per cent growth in the passenger traffic. There was a longstanding demand from passengers to resume the afternoon flight from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata,” Biju Patnaik International Airport Director Sharad Kumar told the media here.
At present, Indigo, Air India and GoAir Airlines are providing flights from Bhubaneswar to nine cities of the county. More flights from Kolkata to Mumbai via Bhubaneswar would be of great help to passengers.
