Know Your Journalist’, an open directory of journalists has been lunched in Odisha. Now, journalists of the State can get their names registered in this web portal along with more details about them. The initiative has been taken by the Odisha Media Award team in its portal http://odishamediaaward.in/knowyourjournalist.
It is an independent, not-for-profit website built to make it easier for the public to find out more about journalists and what they write about. It enables one to find out further information about a particular journalist such as links to a personal website or wikipedia page and, in some cases, an email address and phone number.
Because of the way the information is gathered, the site is not comprehensive now. It would take some time to get adequate information about journalists, said Odisha Media Award convenor NA Shah Ansari.
