The woman who accused Chakapada Block Development Officer Sanat Kumar Nayak of reneging on his commitment to marry her after an affair that lasted three years, on Friday met State Commission for Women (SCW) Chairperson lopamudra Buxipatra and sought her intervention in the matter.
Buxipatra was in Kandhamal on Friday and assured the woman of all possible legal help.
“I have inquired about the matter from the district SP and Social Welfare Officer. A thorough inquiry will be held and action will be taken against the responsible accordingly,” said Buxipatra.
Meanwhile, the woman is staying in a hotel with police protection.  “I will wait for him here. I do not understand why he is hiding from me. It reveals that he has some bad intention,” said the woman.
Notably, the woman, a Government employee posted in Morada in Mayurbhanj district, alleged that Nayak sexually exploited her for years with the promise of marriage, but was now trying to wriggle out of the relationship and marry someone else. She claimed they had already married in a temple and even showed photographs to back her claim.
