The G Udayagiri-based Christian Janakalyan Samaj has appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to fulfil the demands of the 2008 communal riot survivors of Kandhamal district.
The Samaj in a letter on Saturday stated that the financial support provided by the State and Central Governments in 2008 was not given to all the victimised families in full. No steps have been taken by the Government to provide the remaining amounts even after nine years.
The organisation appealed to the Chief Minister to grant a support of Rs 10 lakh to each victimised family to help them survive better.
They also requested for inclusion of some other families of the victimised community in the district damage list because they deserve compensation but were unfortunately omitted from the list.
