CEO website to provide info on poll officials
All major rallies and meetings to be organised by political parties during the upcoming Kandhamal lok Sabha bypoll would be video-recorded, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mona Sharma said here on Monday.
Addressing representatives of political parties at an all-party meeting here, Sharma also said polling at sensitive booths would also be video-recorded.
Informing that new developmental works have been restricted in the constituency till poll date October 15, Sharma also said restrictions have been imposed on official tours of Ministers and use of Government guest houses and hoardings in the areas under Kandhamal, Boudh, Ganjam and Nayagarh districts that are coming under the constituency.
The CEO said no party would have the monopoly in organising party meetings in public grounds and meeting halls and in use of helipads. She asked the party representatives to make her know immediate if they face any problems relating to these issues.
She asked the party representatives to inform the concerned district Collector, SP and her if they have any complaint regarding election expenditure and use of vehicles by opponent candidates. Names of all officials to be engaged in the bypoll, their designations and mobile numbers would be available on the web portal of the Chief Electoral Office www.ceoorissa.nic.in.
She also informed that if an EVM needs to be changed for any reason, political parties would be informed about it by the CEO office. Among others, Joint CEO Jyoti Prakash Dash, BJD leader Narendra Swain, Congress leaders Sibananda Ray and Uttam Kumar Acharya and BJP leaders Samir Ranjan Mohanty and Bipra Padhi were present.
