All 19 Government Advocates of Kandhamal district working at Phulbani and Baliguda courts would launch a cease-work agitation from Monday seeking early payment of their pending dues, informed Associate Public Prosecutor Pratap Patra here on Saturday.
Patra informed that the advocates have not been paid their salaries and allowances since July 2012. “Even though a total of Rs 11 lakh has come to the District Magistrate for payment of our salaries since April, we are yet to be paid. Our repeated requests have fallen in deaf ears,” Patra said.
