The AITUC-affiliated Keonjhar Mines and Forest Workers’ Union (KMFW) slammed the Central Government for failing to implement International labour Organisation (IlO)’s resolutions.Addressing several meetings held on the occasion of the May Day on Thursday, KMFW members lamented that the Government has failed to enact the IlO’s 87 and 98 resolutions and to implement recommendation of the labour and Employment Ministry’s consultative committee.KMFW general secretary Maheswar Rout presided over meetings at Suakati, Jurudi, Barbil, Bolani and other places in the district.The workers’ body also reiterated their demands, including wage hike and establishment of a special wage board for workers employed in secondary steel sectors.
