Vidyabhawan, a charitable residential school for unprivileged children, established at Khudaposi of Keonjhar district has been accorded ISO 9001-2008 certification for quality management and maintaining standards for quality education.

The school is the first of its kind in the district to receive such accreditation.

The residential school has been functioning since 2009 with a capacity of providing education to 300 children from Classes-1 to 10. Besides freJ’sugudae food and boarding facilities, the school has a library, a science lab, a children’s park, a spacious dining hall and a conference hall in its green campus.

Fifty toilets with 24x7 water supply, uninterrupted solar power supply, 40,000-sqft building infrastructure, sports and games facilities like football, hockey, cricket and volleyball, special evening and morning coaching classes, vocational training in computer, tailoring, life skills, art, music and dance classes for the students, other activities like excursions, interschool exchange programmes, different competitions, annual sports, health facilities are available in this school which are rarely found in any other school in the district.

In a tribals-dominated backward district like Keonjhar, where thousands of vulnerable unprivileged children have no access to education, institutions like the Vidyabhawan has created scope for such children to be change agents for the society in future, said its founder Malay Mohapatra.
