Tata Steel Kharbandh Mines Workers' Union president Surjit Dutta (37) and driver Subash Mohalla(30) died in an accident on Sunday near Barabanki forest under the Rugudi police station of Keonjhar district.
Sources said Dutta who was working as an operator at the Tata Steel Khandbandh mines and four others had gone to Koira to attend a marriage function and while returning, the vehicle dashed against an electric pole on NH-215, 10 km from Joda. Four others who were sitting on the back seat escaped unhurt.
