The Jindal Steel and Power limited (JSPl) has agreed to provide electrification to a few tribal villages under Joda block which are still deprived of the facility. The villages include Rupa Sahi, Gamaha Sahi, Karan Sahi of Biarakla panchayat which have to depend on kerosene for lighting their house.
This makes it clear the benefits of any plan and programme of the Government like the Rajiv Gandhi Gramina Vidut Karan Yojana, Biju Jyoti Yojan, Sabka Sath or Sabka Vikas have not reached to these under- privileged Adivasi people who reside by NH 215 and that too in the vicinity of many plants and mines like Tata , Crackers India, JSPl etc. At a meeting held recently and attended by executive vice president, JSPl TS Sabhoge and several top officials of the company like SB Majumdar, Varjil lakra, sarpanch Smita Naik and vice-sarpanch Bishnu Khillar, among others revealed about the plan of the company to go ahead with the project. Nearly 1,000 people will be benefitted by the project.
