The District Malaria Officer in Barbil has been arrested on the charge of outraging the modesty of a married woman who had visited him for treatment.
The 19-year-old woman had come to the officer Dr Nirmal Kumar Nayak for an abortion when he allegedly outraged her modesty on Monday.
“She has complained at the police station and we have registered a case under Section 324 B here. Initial investigation shows that the victim’s statement about outrage of modesty might be true,” said the Barbil SDPO.
Police arrested Nayak on Monday and forwarded him to court after interrogation, police said.
