Allegations of irregularities in the appointment of Anganwadi Worker in Kundurpani of Bhuyanroida panchayat under Joda block have surfaced.
Sources revealed that on July 5, under a notification no 357, the CDPO, Joda had invited applications for the post one Anganwadi worker in Kundurpani village.
For eligibility, it was mentioned that a candidate must be a permanent resident of the area where the Anganwadi centre is located. Accordingly, eight candidates had applied but three were declared eligible after screening. But a dispute started when one Vijayalaxmi Naik, who is alleged to be not a permanent resident, was included in the list of three eligible candidates.
In this regard, other candidates made an allegation before the Sub- Collector, Champua and BDO, Joda. However, ignoring the allegation, CDPO Renuka Swain conducted an interview secretly where the disputed Vijayaluxmi was called to attend. When other two candidates reached there, they were not allowed to attend the interview. It is alleged by the villagers that taking advantage of the simplicity of the Adivasi people, CDPO Swain was trying to show undue favour to the candidate of her own choice for vested interest. Meanwhile, the locals have demanded the district Collector’s intervention in the case.
