Baleswar Vigilance sleuths arrested a surgical specialist of the Keonhar District Headquarters Hospital when he accepted bribe of `1,000 on Wednesday.
Dr Jaykrushna Padhi was trapped while demanding and taking the bribe from one Satrughna Behera of Kadagadia under the Sadar police station of Keonjhar. Dr Padhi had earlier carried out a surgery on the daughter of Behera, but it was a failure. For carrying out another surgery, he had demanded the bribe, said vigilance sources.
The raid was conducted under the instruction and supervision of Baleswar Vigilance SP Dayanidhi Gochhayat.
