Keonjhar Collector Dr N Tirumalla Naik made a surprise visit to Kamarjoda CHC on the outskirts of Joda after attending a Governor programme at Barbil on Tuesday.
During his visit, he sought the progress of the work undertaken by the district administration for the CHC and marked the absence of Dr Jagdish Prasad Sahu. Dr Sahu, a regular Government doctor, was on leave for two days. With no doctor at the hospital, the patients were facing a lot of difficulties.
Sources close to the DM said stringent action would be taken against such doctor for dereliction in duty, if needed, in future.
Notably, after getting complaints from the local people and reports in media, the district administration took steps to improve the infrastructures of the hospital. After infrastructure, another main problem that came to the fore is the absence of doctor. CHC, Kamarjoda is mainly dependent by common people of Joda who don’t get medical service either at the Tisco Hospital or other hospital run by companies.
