KISS visit is like pilgrimage: Satyarthi

Nobel Peace Prize (2014) winner Kailash Satyarthi visited the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) on Friday and interacted with the students. He along with his wife Sumedha Kailash went around all campuses of KIIT and KISS.

“It’s a pleasure to see smiling faces of the children here at KISS. Visiting KISS is like pilgrimage. Temple, Mosque and Church all reside in the smiles of these innocent children,” he said while addressing the 17,000 girl students of the institute.

“Dr. Samanta had invited me to visit the institute three years back. Happy faces I see today had once faced deprivation, isolation and alienation. They did not enjoy the right to live the life of dignity. These 17,000 empowered girls are a powerful picture of Rising India,” Satyarthi said. Education is the panacea for all social and economic ills and the key to development, not only for indigenous population but for all children, the eminent children’s rights activist and founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan added.
