The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has posted impressive results in the Plus-II Commerce and Arts streams of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) examinations for the seventh year in a row.

The State pass percentage in Arts and Commerce is 71.55 per cent and 70.39 per cent respectively. In comparison, the pass percentage of the KISS in Arts is 99 per cent, while Commerce students achieved cent per cent results this year.

It is encouraging that 13 students from the Primitive Tribal Groups passed in the Commerce and Arts streams. A total of 17 Bonda tribe students, who were sent to the institute by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik two years back, cleared the Plus-II exams with impressive marks.

Girls students have shown better results than boys. Sadhak Karjee of Gajapati district from Saura tribe secured 80 per cent marks, the highest in Plus-II Arts in the KISS. Similarly in Commerce, lilimani Singh of Baleswar from Bhumija tribe secured 78 per cent, the highest in the KISS.
