Dr Sudeep Satpathy, Associate Professor of Physiology at the KIMS here, has been selected as sports medicine doctor for the 2016 Rio Olympics. He has been selected on the basis of his performance and experience in the field of sports medicine.
Dr Satpathy is said to be the first doctor from Odisha to join Olympics.
Dr Satpathy is also a member of the prestigious faculty of sports and exercise medicine, Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Ireland. He was also the team doctor of the Sachin Tendulkar-owned Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super league 2015.
Congratulating Dr Satpathy for his success, KIIT & KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said the KIMS is proud to have such kind of a talented physician and a jewel of Odisha.
