The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) began its smart consultation through telemedicine on Monday. Dr Shankar Acharya, eminent spine surgeon from the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), New Delhi, gave consultation through ultramodern telemedicine link established by the KIMS through a video conferencing for better treatment. This facility is the first of its kind in Odisha.
Telemedicine service would be provided once in a week for the time being and given daily later on. In would be extended to all other departments and linked to all districts of Odisha soon.
