The KIIT University team continued the sole lead with 11 points with five wins and one draw on the completion of sixth round in the East Zone Inter-University Chess tournament on Friday.
In the sixth round women category, the KIIT University won against the Bilaspur University with 4-0. The University of Calcutta, Surguja University and Patna University bagged the second, third and fourth position respectively.
While in the men category the University of Calcutta has taken the sole lead with 12 points. The Jadavpur University, Utkal University and KIIT University were at second, third and fourth rank respectively.
The final rounds are to be played on November 4 and the top four qualifying teams of the tournament will take part in the All India Inter Zonal Chess Tournament to be held at the Jagtar lake City University, Bhopal from November 10 to 14.
