The KIIT, Bhubaneswar and the Trinity College, london have announced to work together to improve English language teaching, learning and assessment for the benefit of all KIIT students.
The alliance between the two universities aims to equip KIIT students with the English language skills they require to move on successfully to work or further study. In this connection, an MoU was signed between KIIT Registrar Dr Sasmita Samanta and President-Examination, Orient Blackswan Pvt ltd, National Manager, Trinity College, london BM Mohamud Ali on Thursday.
The areas of cooperation would include training of KIIT’s teachers, design of the curriculum and assessment of students. Trinity’s expert examiners would assess the students’ proficiency in English, and successful students would be awarded an internationally-recognised Trinity qualification.
This MoU would enable the KIIT to become a registered centre for Trinity language examinations. The Trinity College through its representatives would train KIIT English language teachers for the various Trinity certificate programmes. KIIT students would have the advantage of obtaining international certification for their English language proficiency.
The Trinity language Proficiency Certificates are also expected to provide KIITians an edge in the campus recruitments.
The fact that Trinity qualifications are valued by employers and universities around the world will stand KIITians in good stead, said Trinity Chief Executive Sarah Kemp.
The MoU is an important step forward to make KIIT students proficient in English language -- a necessary skill to succeed in present-day global business environment, said Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta.
Each year, more than 600,000 candidates in over 60 countries take a Trinity assessment.
