In a remarkable feat, three athletes, Dutee Chand, CA Bhavani Devi and Shivpal Singh, and Dr Sudeep Satpathy, a sports medicine doctor, from the KIIT University have made the cut for the forthcoming Olympic Games.

The KIIT is the only Indian university to send three athletes and an official (doctor) to the Olympic Games, which is scheduled from July 23. It will be the second consecutive Olympic appearance for Dutee, who qualified in two events, women’s 100m and 200m sprints, on the basis of her world ranking. She is the only Indian to participate in two events two times in Olympics.
