At a time when no cure for Covid-19 infection has been found, villagers of Pasranpalli under Malkangiri district’s Padia block have undertaken an absurd initiative to boost immunity in children against the deadly virus.
As many as 50 children were served country liquor in the village for the purpose.
During the strange act, Covid guidelines were flouted as the children sat close to each other without wearing masks.
The matter came to the fore as a video of the incident went viral on the social media.
Another superstitious act had recently taken place in the district as a sorcerer allegedly thrashed an ailing woman and fed her pig excreta for getting her rid of evil spirit.
