Kandhamal District and Sessions Judge Hiranmaya Besoyee on Friday rejected the bail pleas of three accused, Rajendra Pattnaik of Brahmapur, Kiran Pattnaik of Hinjilicut and Trinath Mohanty of Phulbani, who were arrested by the Crime Branch for taking kidney from Kanhu Behera of the Phulbani area in Kandhamal district.
Earlier in the day, the Crime Branch probing the case had produced the accused before the District and Sessions Judge Court here. The Crime Branch lawyer argued that the accused might destroy the evidence if the court grants bail to the trio.
Another two accused of the case, Mahendra Pattnaik and Sulachana Pattnaik, were granted bail under health ground.
