Rajya Sabha member and All India Congress Committee Secretary Rama Chandra Khuntia has been nominated as a member of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR).
Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari nominated Khuntia to the committee, which is working for various natural calamities like cyclone, floods, earthquake and droughts.
The nomination of Khuntia to NPDRR is remarkable since Odisha is frequently affected by these natural calamities.
