In a broad daylight robbery, armed miscreants looted Rs45 lakh from two staffs of a toll plaza at Godipada under the Jankia police station in Khordha district at gunpoint.
According to reports, the tollgate manager and supervisor were carrying toll fee collection of last two days amounting Rs45 lakh in a Santro car bearing registration number AP 9AJ 5827 to deposit in a bank at around 3 pm when they were intercepted near the Jankia petrol pump close to the police station by three miscreants who came by a black car.
One of the miscreants pointed a mauzer at the toll plaza staffs sitting inside the rear seat of their car and snatched away the bag containing the cash.
The robbers after committing the crime drove away towards Brahmapur by their car. A complaint was lodged at the Jankia police station in this regard. Notably, robbers had looted Rs28 lakh from employees of the same toll plaza a few months ago.
