Panchayat Executive Officer Kaibalya Mahataray of Bankoi gram panchayat under Bolagarh block in Khordha district was arrested in a bribery case on Saturday.
The Vigilance police, Bhubaneswar Division, trapped him while he was demanding and accepting Rs 1,000 from complainant Jitendra Barad of Bankoi Dala village, Bolagarh for release of the second instalment in favour of his mother for construction of house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme .
The residential houses of Mahataray located at Jajpur, Nirakarpur and Khordha were also searched.
