The Keonjhar police have recently launched foot patrolling in the 24 police stations in the district. Police forces go walking in the evening time once in every week.
This is said to be the first such initiative in the State.
According to district SP Rajesh Pandit, this exercise would instil a feeling of safety among people and fear among criminals. Police personnel have been provided with torchlight by the department for such patrolling.
