Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted raids on the office and residence of an executive engineer of R and B Division here. Also simultaneous raids at various places including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Salepur were carried out by the investigating agency.
An eight-member squad, led by DSP Bharat Chandra Sethy raided the residence and office of EE Kishore Chandra Nayak at the behest of SP, Vigilance, Cuttack, after ‘corruption’ allegation leveled against him.
During the raid, cash books, agreement papers and other valuable documents showing irregularities in payments made during 2008-09 were seized. Besides, superannuation and appointment order register of the 3 DlRs were also confiscated, said DSP Bharat Chandra Sethy. However, no papers relating to movable and immovable properties of Nayak were found during the raid, he added.
