The Sadar police on Tuesday registered a case against a miscreant for using abusive language against an Anganwadi worker and threatening to kill her over phone.
Kendrapada Sadar police station IIC Neelakantha Prasad Patra said Anganwadi worker Sasmita Barik, a resident of Jagannathpur, lodged an FIR alleging that a miscreant, bearing mobile phone number 8984646227 telephoned to her on December 1 and went on misbehaving with her by slangs. The miscreant too threatened to sexually abuse her and kill her by beheading. She said 32 other Anganwadi workers also received abusive calls from the same mobile number the same night. Police registered a case bearing case no 393 under Sections 294,506,507 of IPC and started an inquiry. Meanwhile, the police have tracked the mobile number and established the identity of the miscreant. As per the mobile tracking, the number belongs to Santosh Munda of Sundargarh. The Sadar police would go to Sundergarh to take legal action against the accused, stated IIC Patra.
