Kavita Mahakud, the woman who has been claiming to be the daughter-in-law of Independent Champua Sanatan Mahakud, on Thursday said she would meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and demand for a DNA test (paternity test) of her daughter if the MlA’s son doesn’t accept her as his wife soon.
“If the MlA’s son doesn’t accept me, I will be forced to seek a DNA test of my daughter. I want my husband and paternity recognition for my daughter. I don’t want maintenance cost. They had attempted for a mutual settlement by offering me money for the maintenance of my daughter. I will meet the Chief Minister if I am not accepted by them,” said Kavita to reporters here.
She refuting charges that she had absconded after reporting the matter to the police. “I had gone home as my daughter was sick. I want my rights. I have no intention to defame anyone,” she said.
Notably, the Mahila police station here registered a case against the MlA and and his son-in-law Dinabandhu on the basis of complaint lodged by Kavita on March 1.
On Wednesday, Kavita had also alleged that the Odisha State Commission for Women (OSWC) chairperson lopamudra Buxipatra had tried to hush-up the case by asking her to accept some amount from the opposite party and go for a settlement. However, the OSWC authorities have refuted the allegations.
