A Kaudia, Thukuri Pradhan (41), of Sarkoli village under the Gurudijhatia police station of Athagarh block, died on Monday due to a stampede inside the Dhabaleswar temple here.
Sources said Pradhan was in queue to pour water when the crowd jostled with each other and broke the
queue in the absence
police and unlucky Pradhan became the victim of the stampede.
He was rushed to Athagarh SDHm where doctors declared him brought dead.
locals said the temple administration and the police are responsible for the tragedy due to their callous attitude towards law and order, discipline and crowd management in the shrine, where thousands of Kaudias congregate every Monday in the month of Shravan.
