Distinguished personalities from the fields of literature, cinema, media and politics of national and international repute will come under one platform to discuss and debate on the theme ‘literature and Democracy’ at the third edition of the Kalinga literary Festival (KlF) to begin here on June 18.

The two-day literary extravaganza is a platform for both experienced and young litterateurs, who would explore commonalities in the diverse voices in literature and democracy.

The festival, to be inaugurated by Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Dr Mahesh Sharma and State Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, would cover several dimensions of the interconnections between literature and democracy. The key sessions would be on topics like dialogue, development and democratic spirit in literature, a literary journey of Kalinga, governance in Odia language, youth, women, media, sports, folk and regional literature etc, said KlF chief convener Sangram Dhar at a Press met here on Sunday.

KlF founder and co-convener Rashmi Ranjan Parida said, “KlF-2016 promises to be the biggest platform and will be a best blend of Odia literature and its interconnection with national and global literature.”
