Kalinga Hospital employees back at work

The three-week-long unrest among the employees and doctors of the Kalinga Hospital here was finally over on Wednesday. All the doctors and employees rejoined duties.

Admission, consultation and registration are going on smoothly and as per norms. Finally, the authorities have accepted most of the demands of the employees and doctors, the hospital management said.

Manoranjan Pattnayak, one of the founder-members of the hospital, played a key role in sorting out the entire issue. He had come all the way from the USA to resolve the deadlock.

From Wednesday onwards, Dr Sharada Pattanaik, a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and former Managing Director of the hospital, took over the charge as the new MD.

"All the employees welcomed this step by the authorities and expressed their desire for state-of-art healthcare for patients," said the hospital authorities in a Press release.
