Junior Electrical Engineer Goutam Ojha of the Wesco, Narla Section in Kalahandi district was arrested by Vigilance officers for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 on Saturday.
Ojha had demanded the bribe from Dagariswar Sahu of lakhpadar village in the district to send feasibility report for installation of a transformer.
The complainant alleged that the villagers of lakhpadar had demanded installation of a transformer in their area for irrigation purpose. When he requested accused Ojha for sending the feasibility report in this regard, the latter demanded the bribe. Finding no other alternative, Sahu reported the matter to Vigilance. later, a trap was laid and Ojha was caught red-handed by a Vigilance team.
