The Vigilance police on Sunday caught Kalahandi district’s Golamunda police station ASI Rajkapur Behera red-handed for demanding and accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 10,000.
Behera was nabbed while taking the bribe at the Golamunda PS from complainant Trinath Naik of Dudkel village in the Kalahandi district for registering a counter case against his opponents Surekha Bhatria and three others on his report and not to arrest complainant Trinath Naik and his family members in a case.
His Government quarter inside the Golamunda PS and house at native village Utkela in the district were searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court.
